Soil Nailing

Soil nailing enhances the stability of slopes by the installation of grouted tendons in a regular grid pattern. The technique is ideally suited to hollow bar systems where drilling is undertaken with pneumatic or hydraulic drill rigs driving the bar using a sacrificial bit, followed by pumping grout down the centre of the bar. Traditional open hole drilling/casing methods are also used and, in certain conditions, driven deadman type anchors.

A facing system such as mesh, erosion control or structural concrete is often used to tie the nail heads together to allow a vegetated surface to re-establish.

Rock Solutions Ltd has a wide range of drill rigs suitable for mounting on our cliff rigs and on standard and long reach excavators.
